👩‍🏫What is Fomo3D?

In year 2018, a cryptocurrency lottery auction game, Fomo3D, got so popular that players brought the Ethereum (ETH) to its knees just to win. Fomo3D was an ironic jab at the cryptocurrency space, putting every player in the terrifying and tempting position to Exit Scam everything and run away with massive life-changing amounts of real Ethereum. Fomo3D was created as a 100% trustless library of smart contracts. It was intentionally designed so that developers have no access to the funds or influence on the rounds. The game runs entirely on human greed, to the profit of everyone playing.

The first round of the game ended on 22, Aug 2018 by paying out a jackpot worth roughly $3 million USD in ETH to a player. The winning worth over 10,469 ETH, which represented just under half of the total pot of 21,811 ETH (the rest was distributed among other players and put back into the pot).

According to the game’s developers, they weren’t just lucky: the winning player burned through their own digital cash to rig the game for themselves. As the developer said, they were playing with anyone who is “absolutely skilled”, including automated key-buying bots and by jamming up the Ethereum blockchain just long enough to block out other players, ensuring that they bought the last Fomo3D key.
